BlueNotes was founded in 1996 by Oliver Klammt (piano, vocals, and composition) and Heike Nürnberg (vocals and lyrics). The duo composed music styled for the Jazz bar and became a trio with the addition in 1997 of the cellist Andreas Haas. In 1997 they debuted their first album "Citylights".

In 1998 there was a two year break because Andreas Haas was hired full time by the Ulmer Theater Orchestra.

In the beginning of 2000 BlueNotes was re-formed with Igor Schiele on bass and Christian Krischkowsky on drums to create a classic jazz ensemble (Voice, Piano, Bass, Drums). This ensemble played on the second BlueNotes CD in February of 2001 entitled "Moods" after which the band dissolved.

In 2007 BlueNotes re-formed once again as the group Duo. Supported by Klammt's arrangements created and played back on the computer, as well as synthesized sounds performed live, Duo performs jazz classics, its own compositions, blues, and pop. Initially Duo concentrated on the performance of Jazz covers but has since also included their own compositions. In 2008 Duo played several concerts in Corsica and in 2009 they released their first Duo CD "Au Bord de la Mer".  Since October 2009 the album has been available online and through BlueNotes Management. By popular demand Duo returned to Corsica in June and July of 2009 and 2010. In 23th of July 2011 BlueNotes will be play at the Summerstage Open Air (www.sommerbuehneblautopf.de/programm.htm) in Blaubeuren (Ulm) Germany and will be play for the fifth time in Corse.
